The difference between anchor points and locking a reference plane

Anchor points are used in scripts using Datashapes, Locking reference planes is used in Adaptive Components (btw. In all Families i hope)
In dept, is there a connection?
And another question
And how do i weave two meshes with different triangle densities into one that Dynamo can handle (importing .obj)?

Not sure I have seen these… are they Revit elements by some other name?

Newest Dynamo builds have mesh toolkit as the default mesh toolset, which should import as something you can use here. Older builds you can use the MeshToolkit package to do the same, or leverage the OOTB mesh by verticies and index groups, adding the total vertex count of the first mesh to the index groups of the second.

The points locked to the xy plane are the anchor points

Ah! In DynaShape not DataShapes.

No connection intended, but perhaps @LongNguyenADSK has some thoughts?

Still not sure what you mean by “weave two meshes” though…

Two meshes, one with a finer mesh

Can you show an example? Guessing what I noted above is the path forward though.

Mesh toolkit to merge the two should do the trick. If not, post some files to test with.
