Element Placements

All,

Any suggestions on the placement of substructure adaptive elements below? Placement point not well defined. Adaptive families loaded into Revit from Sofistik add-on.

Link to Sofistik Adaptive family document:

Some progress but can’t seem to resolve the curvature using nodes below?

Hard to see exactly how you would alter these family instances without the families themselves. As most don’t have Sofistik we don’t have the capability to edit things directly.

If the curvature nodes aren’t working, one thought is to pull the isocurve of the desired surface and pull the tangent and normal vectors at the desired location along that curve. Might even be able to skip the isocurve and work with the original center line.

Hi @jacob.small,

The family is loaded in Revit but originally formed in Sofistik Bridge, a Revit add-on with a 30 day trial.

I have attached the family below. Sofistik states that the family local coordinates of the Adaptive Point are aligned with the tangent vector of an axis.

SOFISTiK_Generic_Abutment-01.rfa (1.4 MB)

I was able to pull the normal and tangent vectors below but not the Isocurve:

Can you post your current dyn?

@jacob.small, no problem…see attachment.
