Hi,
I have an script from 4 years ago & when I download the packages from Archi-lab two nodes aren’t working.
Can someone help me with this?
Are there other nodes that I can use?
Thanks in Advance

Have you installed the right version of Archi-Lab? See the linked post for more info, but the last two digits of the version number you install needs to match your Revit version.
Hi @Caj or try familyinstance by curve from clockwork and for levels think genius loci have some great nodes for that
Thanks! It worked.
Is it safer to use that node? Or are both not a problem?
no one should be a problem, for archilab that package is very version specific, but works as a charm with the right version…
Okay, thank you!
I’m now getting the error:
Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
Do you know how to fix this? Is the family not good?
share that…and we can take a look
![]()
I can’t share it, because It’s a detailed structural family from our company with a lot of information in it. A few years ago this worked fine.
What is the data coming into the node? Try putting an Object.Type node before each input and join those into a list (List.Join + List.Flatten) and look for unique object types. You should only have FamilyType, Line, and Level in that list. If it has a Null or other object type you’ve got bad data to start with.
If you are really doing structural framing I recommend using one of the constructors for Structural Framing that are out of the box (Dynamo’s core library > Revit > Elements > Structural Framing > one of the nodes next to a green line).
What do you mean by Object.Type? I tried that but it says the same.
The input for Line & Level is good. Only the Family Type is giving an error, but that’s weird, because the input is an Family Type node.
Unfortunately I can’t use Structural Framing nodes.
Oh I’m sorry. It’s the level node.
It’s not picking the right level name from Revit.
Dynamo gets the level from a linked model, but I don’t have that level in my project file.
Is there any tool to get it on the right level?
We can’t help efficiently without seeing more, and it’s not really related to the original topic.
Please start a new topic and provide some screenshots of what you are seeing. A minimally reproducible dataset may be required to troubleshoot as I haven’t see what you’re describing so it’s tough to troubleshoot. Try opening the model detached and delete 99% the work including all views but one and all materials, then purge unused and save as a new file. If you can’t post the model even with that degree of cleanup start a new model from no template and reproduce the issue. if you can’t reproduce the issue with a new file then it’s something related to how your model has been built not anything to do with Dynamo or particular nodes.
