Topography.mesh node broken

I have a script set up to convert topography to a floor. It usually works great but adding too many points seems to break the topography.mesh node. Is there a reason or a work around for this issue?

The error reads "Warning: One or more geometries have failed to convert due to this error: Polycurves may be branching.

Also I am not talking about thousands of points. If I go over 10 points it will break.
