There seems to be something wrong with "PolyCurve.ByThickeningCurveNormal"

Hello,

There seems to be something wrong with “PolyCurve.ByThickeningCurveNomal”.

[Sitiuation]

I applied “PolyCurve.ByThickeningCurveNomal” to a Line to create a PolyCurve.

The “Geometry WorkingRange” seems to affect the “thickness” of this function.

When “Geometry Working Range” is set to “Medium”, it seems to be working without any troubles.

However, when the “Geometry Working Range” is set to “Extra Large”, it appears to be very wide compared to the input.

I’ve also attached screenshots showing these issues.

(You can confirm this difference clearly when comparing the results of “Curve.Length”.)

I think there is a problem concerning “PolyCurve.ByThickeningCurveNomal” . Is this correct?

Thank you in advance

Hi,

I dont know if this is a problem with the PolyCurve.ByThickeningCurveNomal node, but I have experienced problems with Dynamo when using the Extra Large setting. I would recommend to keep it on Medium. The Geometry Scaling warnings you’ll just have to ignore.

@stamura this looks like a bug with Geometry scaling. Thanks for pointing this out. We’ll make a note of it and see if it can be addressed soon. Generally speaking, we have heard of complaints about the geometry scaling feature not working very reliably and we have plans on improving it in the near future.
