Problem loading librariesRevit 2021.1.10 (21.1.100.12)

Dynamo core 2.6.2.15705

Dynamo Revit 2.6.2.18430

Hello,

Since today, I’ve been having a problem loading packages (apparently the ones with DLLs).

Example of the log file2025-06-09 11:05:05Z : Une exception est survenue lors de l’analyse du répertoire du package à l’emplacement C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\RVT 2021\Dynamo\2.6\packages\archi-lab.net

2025-06-09 11:05:05Z : notification:Dynamo.Exceptions.

I wanted to upgrade to Dynamo version 2.9, but I can’t find the EXE?

It’s only a ZIP file, but I don’t think it’s an update for Revit. Can you confirm?

Any ideas?

There is no way to update Dynamo for Revit, only to update Revit.

It’s a near 100% certainty that you’ve got an invalid version of Archi-Lab (review this link). Your version needs to end with the same as your Revit year… which brings me to my last point.

You’re using Revit 2021. it has been over 5 years since that was released, and is an entire version and a quarter outside of the support window. You need to update your Revit project to a supported build for security reasons alone, never mind trying to build automations.

Thank you for your reply.
What is GenerativeDesign?
Can I uninstall it?

I installed older versions of the packages.
No error message.
Once I closed and opened REVIT and Dynamo, the error reappeared!?

Generative Design is a feature of Revit which helps find optimized solution for design problems by way of Dynamo. Read up on it here: https://www.generativedesign.org/

Fortunately that warning is only saying there isn’t a /dyf folder in the package, which is by intentional so you can ignore it. (FYI @achintya_bhat @solamour @emrullah.yildiz might want to consider shipping an empty .dyf folder to prevent this from or otherwise repress the warning another way)

Then you may have a conflict between Archi-Lab and a Revit add-in. Disable ALL Revit add-ins and try again.

I no longer have the add-in.
I started with this.
I deleted REVIT and reinstalled it :frowning:

Add-ins will persist after Revit is uninstalled. You need to disable them instead.

No more plugins before installing Revit.
Revit in its earlier version
Installs the package correctly, but the next time I open REVIT, it no longer recognizes the paths.

Restart the CPU, recreate the issue, and post your Revit journal, Dynamo log, and the list of packages found in your package manager. If you are concerned with providing those files directly on the open forum reach out to my colleagues in support via the accounts portal at manage.autodesk.com and they can help you, though you may be stuck with minimal support as you’re so far outside the window.

Not really possible for the REVIT log, but there is:
Users reported, that the Revit journal file contains lines with “API_Error : Assembly version conflicts” - even though Revit is working as expected.

For example:
API_ERROR { : Assembly version conflict in some references in Autodesk.Revit.Config.Client assembly 'Addin’s module System.Net.Http of version 4.2.0.0 conflicts with same preloaded module of version 4.0.0.0 }

API_ERROR { : Assembly version conflict in some references in Autodesk.PnIDModeler.Client assembly 'Addin’s module System.Net.Http of version 4.2.0.0 conflicts with same preloaded module of version 4.0.0.0 }

Status:

No issue has been identified and the software is behaving as designed.

Normally without consequence

More than a Package
Spring - Dynamo 2.0

Thanks for watching

Journals can be posted, so there isn’t any reason it isn’t possible.

The API errors indicate they have an add-in conflict. Get them disabled as your next step, until then you’re going to be blocked.
