I want to override the Cut pattern and Lineweight of Columns and Structural Columns from a Linked Model.
I want this to be applied to columns greater than 1.00 sg.m.
The code retruns no error but its not changing in the model.

What is the output from your “Views.viewTemplate” node?
First of all you’re modifying the category override when you need a filter, so I don’t think this is what you want.

Element Override doesn’t work for linked elements. It needs to be a filter.

You would need the opposite, you would need to set it to the views you want to see this done to. Nick is right, you need to create a filter. Would be the best way in Revit ultimately rather trying to overwrite the elements graphics on each and every view.
