In my current project I have a few weird slanted columns from structure I have to cover with glass curtain system. So obviously the “normal” way is to make inplace masses same as the column and create curtain system on their face. However: 1) there is too many 2) they gonna change.
So far I have tried the following:
Select columns in dynamo->export to sat>ImportInstance.BySAT in massing environment
heavy triangulation on the faces
I have tried Getting the column geometry then placing it in my project as DirectShape, but directshape cannot be used as a face reference for curtain system.
Do you know any way to create in place mass based on dynamo solid? Or any other bypass method that will not result in triangulated mesh in the massing area?
Could you share an rvt containing af couple of these columns and a quick sketch of the desired curtain system layout?
