Importing Dynamo surfaces into Revit as a true mass geometry

Guys,

I have been using Dynamo to generate massing surfaces for our building. I have tried to use panelize everything in Dynamo and realized that it would have been much easier if I do a curtainwall system in Revit attaching to the mass surface.

I have tried all ways of import and exporting the geometry and nothing can be directly used as a mass surface that a curtain wall system can be snapped on.

It works through SAT file but if so to use SAT solids, I might as well just model everything in Rhino and import it. And SAT solids may result in some inaccuracies in the geometry and makes some mullions wont work in a curved surface.

Can someone please help me on this?

Thank you all

Have you tried spring nodes?

Hi Renzo,

Yeah, I have tried that. It’s the same problem. Revit wont recognize it as a ‘Revit’ mass so it wont do the massing floor and massing curtainwall system.

How about using Dynamo model your mass on family mode, the bring that into Revit?

I have tried that too. The surface is either read as mesh or nothing to show up at all.

Do you have an example of what you have been trying to do?
