Hello, I don’t think you need to use Dynamo. You can simply explode your DWG file and copy the symbol
thank you for answering my question, for the symbol the problem is solved by explode, but I also have some detail drawings from cad that I want to convert the lines to revit detail lines so that I can modify them again so that they can become parametric, when I use explode then I get problems with imperfect layers and irregular disconnected lines.
It’s the working method, but the cons of it is that Revit imports additional line styles and patterns from DWG.
If this is meant to be a symbol on a 3d element, i would highly suggest you build this in a better method that is native in revit. This could be they are within the families, that are switch on depending on detail level of the view.
They could be separate annotation families for the symbols, I am not 100% up to speed with MEP side of review but if it works in a similar manner to structural connections symbols. Then they are separate annotation families for each symbol.
Do not need dynamo then to place them either!
broo, I’m very happy, it’s working fine on my device, thanks for helping me.
my goal is just to create a 2D p&id in revit drafting view, and convert some cad/dwg detail drawings to revit so I can modify them directly in revit,
I think what you said and suggested about symbols in 3D is correct, usually I make symbols for pipe accessories directly in the family and turn off the view level fine on the visibility,
