Housing Layouts Plot Areas and Design concept stage

Hi, I am looking at creating a script that will create a housing layout based on a road centre line and a boundary. The variables being things like frontage, Area, House type footprint.

Before I go further I want to know if anyone out their has had any success doing something like this. My inclination are the variables are to vast to automate. Their are ways of doing this in Civil 3D as an out of the box function so am wondering if its over complicating things.

Assuming you want to layout stuff beyond property lines, Dynamo is likely a great option.
