How does the “Element.OverrideColorInView” color objects? i am wondering how i would revert the color back to normal once I’m done using it to highlight certain elements.

Use custom node from clockwork package to reset:
that worked thanks. but do you know where in revit you would have to go to change it? im just curious how it plays into revits graphical hierarchy.
