Drawing Issue Tracking

Hi,

So we’ve sent a drawing to the client, we send it again to the contractor… Same revision. I’m trying to think of the best way of recording this in Revit.

Ideally I would add a parameter to the Revision itself, but I don’t believe that is possible.

I could use one of the existing revision parameters to log it, then use Dynamo to cross reference it.

I could add some other parameter, and use Dynamo to cross reference it.

Would anyone have any better suggestions or feedback?

Cheers,

Mark

So you are giving inputs in ‘existing revision parameters’ but what is your reference to cross check it? is it in excel?

I would like it all in Revit, so at the minute,

So I could add new parameters and log them there… Then I’ll need to pull that? Obviously not great to need to add loads of parameters just for this purpose.

It would probably be better to use a parameter in the Revision for a different purpose than intended (in this case the ‘Issued to’)

Ok. So you want to pull this data ‘data authorised’ or the right hand side table?

Data authorised parameter can be pulled from Element.getparameter and for right hand side table you generate its schedule.

Thanks for the input, I can do that

I’m after strategic advice before spending several years using a workflow.

If I make a bad call now, I’ll regret it for a long time.

Any advice as to workflows is greatly appreciated.

Cheers
