Curve. Sweep As Solid

The profile does not follow the path. Is this expected?

the solid are going form 0,0,0

Do i need to change the place of the curve? (profile)

Done with dynamo 4.0.0.

Can you show your full graph?

Can’t really identify the profile nor the path in the images. Can you post a different screenshot and the rest of the graph?

Made an new graph an little one. I expected that the solid started at 20,20,20. I feel a bit stupid. In revit i get an profile and it sticks to the path. Can you explain this a little further? Is it possible to use profiles in Dynamo.

Thanks in advance

So this is behaving exactly as I would expect. Instead of using your numbers, let’s look at something a bit simpler from an initial geometry standpoint - extruding a curve along a line which it touches.

In this case the resulting solid is likely exactly what you’d expect - the profile is extruded along the curve. If we start to increase the X offset the results start to look not much like Revit, as the profile is no longer located at the origin of the curve but somewhere on the right or left:

And we can increase the Z offset things follow suit with the profile now being above or below the curve - not much fun there so I’m skipping that screenshot.

However once we start pulling along the Y offset things start to get quite odd. With a positive value:

Or a negative one:

And when the profile isn’t perpendicular to the curve things can get even weirder:

And so the ‘reliability’ of sweep starts to feel quite… not. Unreliable if you will.

But when the profile is both on the curve and perpendicular to the coordinate system at that location, results are consistent… So the ‘fix’ is to model your profile at the origin, (on the XZ plane just like you did) transform it to the coordinate system at the start of the path, and then do the sweep. That graph and result looks something like this:

Thank you so much, i think i get it. (not completely certain) i come back, hopefully this year.
