Changing parameter in elements which are part of a group

Hi All,

I’m dealing with an issue I didn’t realize before.

I want to change element parameters in a selection of elements, but some of them are part of a group. For example, I want to change a custom parameter of a wall but I get an error saying the following:

Any Ideas?

Not possible without ungrouping. You can however update element parameters that are in groups by making sure the Project Parameters can vary per group Instance is checked. If you are using the aligned by group type for the parameters, its game over unfortunately.

:frowning: Even with some textual coding, creating a filter that for “grouped elements” do this and for “ungrouped elements” do that?

No need to. Say if you have doors, some in groups others not, just collect the doors and update the required parameter. Just take note of what else I said.

False alarm… it didn’t. I think I didn’t understood what you mentioned before.

You need to ensure your parameters are set to: Values can vary by group instance
