Help!!!
We are not familiar with Dynamo. essentially looking for a consultant to help us build a routine as follows.
We have a series of families that consists of a parametric frame with multiple components. Each component is a secondary family. The schedule we need to build essentially says within this large family, we have the following sub-components and their properties.
It seems simple as a routine, but not able to do in std. Revit.
I can help…but please explain further, you need the schedule in Revit from a Revit file right?
Make the sub-opponents shared families. Make a basic schedule. Zero programming needed if you use Revit properly.

Aaron nailed it. Make all nested families shared and give them a shared parameter. Associate it downward from the host family then set the host family value and sort/group the schedule by that parameter.
Dynamo could avoid that step technically, but it would only be as recent as the last time a script was ran to push these text values to sort/group a native schedule by.
Hira,
thanks for reaching out to me.
Would it be possible to arrange a zoom call, so we can walk you through the issues we are facing?
Please let me know
Thanks
Jerry.
Gavin (and Aaron),
Thanks for responding. Just like I mentioned to Hira,
would any of you be so inclined to jump on a 5 minute zoom. I’m competent in Revit, discussed this with numerous others and remain stymied.
Please let me know,
and thank you
Jerry
And yes, Looking to create a Revit Schedule from a revit model.
If it’s a 5 minute vc that sounds more like consulting. Feel free to have them drop me a line at aussiebimguru@gmail.com if they’re open to that approach.
