Willow - Digital Engineering Automator. Location: Manila, PH

Willow is looking for a BIM Modeller or Coordinator with interest and experience in Automation to join our Manila team.

Summary of role:

The future of buildings is digital. As the Services arm of Willow’s business, the Digital Engineering team partners with owners and general contractors of building and infrastructure assets to deliver a full spectrum of digital outcomes for buildings. Our implementation of Digital Twins for buildings and infrastructure provides clients with enhanced decision making, operational efficiencies, reduced risk, cost and time savings, and improved quality throughout the project lifecycle. Our services include digital project management, Building Information Modeling (BIM), and BIM management and coordination for design, construction, and operations, and building analytics.

The Digital Engineering Automator will be reporting to the Project Team Lead / Sr. Digital Coordinator and/or to the Regional Director of Delivery for the day-to-day operations and Technical Guidance, Strategy, and Direction.

You must have a strong background in active construction Building Information Modeling (BIM) Project Management experience. You will be required to closely interact with both Digital Engineering and Digital Modelling Teams and understand their workflows and processes to be able to facilitate them through the help of automation and the application of innovation. A Digital Coordinator must demonstrate a strong logical approach to problems, be self-motivated, and be eager to learn new processes and technology, and share with/educate fellow Digital Engineering team members throughout the company. You would be actively working within the automation team to develop large-scale automation to deploy on global projects.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Support the Global Digital Engineering Team including BIM/VDC coordination and management, Digital Twin delivery, asset management, and digital handover of construction asset data.
  • Digital project setup. Regular tasks that will be requested as part of the Digital Coordinator Role can be summarised as follow:
    • Federation of project models – generally from a variety of software.
    • Assessment and analytics of model contents and quality regarding coordination, model construction, data implementation, and compliance to the digital strategy.
    • Contribute to the generation of reports and summaries – including Model audits, coordination/clash detection reports, data audits.
    • Create visualisations from models of data extraction modules for auditing purposes and communication purposes.
    • Opportunities will also be provided to contribute to strategy development.
  • Collaborative development of automated solutions, scalable for deployment on global projects:
    • Identify and contribute to the development of innovation to complex problem statements
    • Ensure stability and robustness through comprehensive debugging and testing
    • Deployment of finalised solutions on active projects
    • Document and communicate solution overview to software developers for formalisation
  • Develop use cases that will drive increased productivity, efficiency and reduce risk in delivery.
  • Actively seek feedback from Team Lead and other peers for project delivery versus agreed scope and service expectation.
  • Assist in providing strategic leadership and direction within the Digital field as well as being able to apply leading-edge technology to the field.
  • Providing feedback and suggestions to the Willow software development team.
  • Create, organise, and manage his/her own tasks successfully.
  • Manage, define, and review the DE Documentation standards and procedures.
  • Mentored and provide guidance to the Manila DE Team in understanding and implementing the company’s standards and best practices.
  • Become the representative and point of contact for the Data Engineering team within Delivery.
  • Occasional international travel may be required.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s level degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in the construction or engineering consulting industry.
  • Essential Software requirements:
    • Revit and Navisworks
    • Dynamo, iConstruct, Python, C#, PowerShell (experience with at least one of this valuable software)
  • Additional valuable skills:
    • Proficiency in statistics and statistical packages like Excel, SQL to be used for data analysis.
    • Demonstrated experience in handling large data sets and relational databases.
    • Experience in the Asset Management field.
  • Intent to further develop software development skills in the above languages
  • Knowledge of OpenBIM file format (IFC) and experience in the use
  • Experience developing and deploying large scale process automation
  • Experience working on large-scale multi-discipline building and/or infrastructure projects.
  • Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and risk management skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in construction BIM coordination and BIM management.
  • Demonstrated experience to present and meeting with clients.
  • Ability to work in an agile environment with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • High energy, self-motivated, and eager to learn.
  • A team player with the ability to lead and initiate initiatives.
  • The ability to plan work within a team to meet deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to network and train others.
  • Very strong demonstrated capability in the use of key BIM authoring, automation, and review tools.
  • Proficient use of Digital technology including file interoperability and information exchange processes.
  • Knowledge of emerging industry technologies and where these can be applied.
  • Ability to learn and respond quickly to the fast-changing business environment.
  • Assist in documenting processes, models, designs, and solutions and able to explain, represent, and discuss with the team.
  • Ability to work in an agile environment with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Self-motivated and eager to learn.
  • A team player and able to lead and initiate.
  • The ability to plan work and meet deadlines.

Given the job posting is 5 months old and goes to a 404 I’d say probably not. They have a careers section on their website though.

Yes, we are still looking for good candidates, but unfortunately we are hiring only people who are currently stationed in Manila. And, if I am not mistaken, you are living in Jakarta, correct?
