Hello everyone,
Good morning,
I am trying to use Dynamo to create a Civil 3D corridor where I can control and change the assemblies used based on data from a CSV file.
My specific goal is to model a tunnel section, including the necessary ground treatments/support systems required for construction, and ensure this model is viewable in Navisworks. My current idea for handling the main concrete structure is to convert the shapes from the Civil 3D corridor into 3D solids (either manually or potentially using Dynamo).
However, the part I really need help with is creating differentiated/varying treatments along the tunnel based on changing soil types.
I’ve watched several YouTube videos where people demonstrate placing discrete objects like posts or signs along an alignment using Dynamo and a CSV file (presumably containing stationing and object type). Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to find these specific DYN scripts or any similar examples that I could adapt for my purpose. I need to modify this concept to place tunnel treatment elements (e.g., different types of rock bolts, shotcrete layers, support structures based on ground conditions specified in the CSV) instead of simple posts or signs.
Could anyone offer some guidance, point me towards relevant Dynamo examples or nodes, or suggest a workflow for achieving this? I’m struggling to figure out how to build this Dynamo script without a reference point.
Any help or pointers would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
