Unfolding sort of works, but still curved... any help?

Hello,

First time here,
i am working on a pinapple kind of form with plates that i want to unfold (for fabrication).
why are my plates not unfolded flat? it still has a curve. (see picture)!

New to the unfolded package, is this the right way to do it? i only need 1 !! unfolded form. because they are al the same.

That package can only unfold planar surfaces, which means you need to rationalize the curved geometry into planar faces first.

Theres a node you can try included called tessellate.
