yeah there are pros and cons with all methods…so it depends many times what should it be used for…
The shape created using "Direct.ShapeByGeometry" node created many internal lines in the Revit model
Update, sorry all of the below to ask if you can make a smooth direct shape surface with a material. Familytype.ByGeometry seems to only handle solids. Maybe make the surface slightly thicker to a solid?
I cant seem to find his node anymore. Not sure if the byRevitGeometry goes both ways, makes something but cant see it. Springs dosn’t seem to work with this shape too. Revit direct shape works but not nice and smooth.

Update, AI fixed error in Spring Nodes. Pretty and smooth Although I cant add a material to it

It’s KFamilyInsert node what you’re probably looking for.
The one you’re using utilizes RevitGeometry, not Dynamo Geometry
