Tag.ByElementAndOffset operation failed

When I select the rebars, I get the error shown in the image. I also tried selecting Structural Rebar from Categories and using All elements of category, but it still didn’t work. Lastly, I tried placing a stirrup from within Revit itself, and I still got the error. When I use the Tag.ByElementAndOffset node with the column, I don’t get an error. Is there a different method for the rebars? Do I need to use a different node?

Hi @Kerem is it something here maybe

Thank you for your help. I installed the same version of GeniusLoci as you have. Instead of “linkInstance,” I have “Input,” but I couldn’t figure out what I should connect to it.

hmmm it should a port for link instance…anyway try keep that input empty…and give a boolean set to true in run it…and see if it could work

PS guees if you are in 23-24…you will need dynamoironpython package 2.7 version 2.5 and not 3.2…or you could try OOTB tag.by element and location

is it 2025 you are in ?

Yes, I will install and try the 2024 version of Revit.

I’m getting this error every time I tag rebar.

yeah what does the rebar node gives you ?..yeah havent tried in 2025 yet…but guess genius loci isnt updated yet the same for the rebar node i guess…

I’m automatically creating reinforcement for columns and want to automate the tagging as well. This way, all tags on the drawings will be aligned and organized. Tagging reinforcement manually is time-consuming, so I want to automate it. I will let you know if it works after trying it with the 2024 version of Revit.
