I clicked on python node to edit script but a black window popups. I dont have any Revit addins. How do i fix this?
Check your Dynamo log for any conflicts, as well as your Revit journal (about 60% of people who say they don’t have any add-ins wind up having an add-in they weren’t aware of which is causing the conflict).
Hi Jacob, thanks for the reply. How do I check the Dynamo log and Revit Journal?
Dynamo log:
- In a file browser, go to
%appdata%/Dynamo/Dynamo Revit/ - Then open the folder for your selected Dynamo version (i.e. if you are using Dynamo 3.5, open that folder)
- Then open ‘logs’ folder.
- Sort by date.
- Open the most recent log.
- Look in the document for things like ‘error’, ‘warning’, etc..
Revit journal:
- In a file browser, go to
%localappdata%/Autodesk/Revit/ - Then open the folder for your revit release.
- Then open the journals folder.
- Sort by date.
- Open the most recent journal..txt file (ignore dump..txt files, journal.*.worker.txt files, etc.).
- Look in the document for “dbg_warning”, “api_error”, etc..
