Purge unused families in revit

Hello everyone,

I tried to purge unused families in Revit using the “purge” tool. However, when I select “select all,” it also deletes various types of families that are used in the project. How can I keep all the types of families that are used in a project?

Thank you, and have a great day!

If there is a issue/bug with the purge unused button in revit you are best to post on the Revit forum(https://forums.autodesk.com/) as this forum is for dynamo related topics.

As a side note the purge tool should only delete elements that it can delete as long as they are not used in other families or placed. If this is happening then there is a bug/issue that may need to be looked at.

From a dynamo point of view you could create a script that would receive a list of families to check if they are used then delete if you wanted to, though the native purge unused tool should work for you.

Thank you a lot Mr.Brendan
