Profile Family in Dynamo

Hi all…

I’m trying to get accurate quantities for pan decking using Dynamo. (I know! I know! Use a formula in the Revit schedule! But Dynamo can get us spot on numbers!!!) My approach utilizes the Revit profile used in the structural deck assembly (to calculate area).

My question…how come the profile - when brought into Dynamo - isn’t the same size (0.5) as it is in Revit (7 1/2")? Have any of you ran across this? Do I have a wrong setting somewhere?

See attached images and file.

Thanks…

Can you post an image of the dynamo graph with relevant watch nodes and/or your revit file? Opening that DYF doesn’t get us much as the pan profile may or may not match what you’re using.

Yes. Of course. Uploaded is the Revit file I’m using. The profile is called LCL_3 1/2" slab on 3" MD.

Are you thinking that this is profile specific? Good thought! I will test other profiles this weekend.

Without looking (not in front of Revit), I’m going to guess it’s a type issue. Are you sure you’re choosing the correct type from the profile family?

Yes. There is only one profile type for the deck in my Revit file.
