I’ve noticed that over the last few months, the “Isolate Selected Geometry” setting in Dynamo’s Preferences no longer seems to persist after closing Revit.
I’ve encountered this issue in multiple versions, including:
Dynamo 3.7 on Revit 2026
Dynamo 2.16 on Revit 2023
Has anyone else experienced this issue, or is there a way to make the setting persist between sessions? Thanks!
Toggle the setting and then check your Dynamo preferences file. A lot of people and companies do odd things to that settings file which can alter how the setting gets picked up.
So the tags aren’t always that transparent - they can sometimes have VERY different settings. That said I just reproduced in 3.0 to see if I could find the flag, and I don’t have any environment manipulations on my system at the moment (long sad story for a different date and venue).
Did the littlest bit more digging and tried forcing a value. Looks like the preferences initializer doesn’t work anymore, likely got hit during the 2.13 update but I can’t run builds that old to confirm at the moment (same sad story as above).
In the meantime you can hopefully make do with ctrl+i which is the keyboard shortcut to toggle the feature and still works in 4.2.
