Mass Surface - adaptive family to follow shape

Hi

I am trying to place an adaptive family (20x20mm profile) along this roof. They come from the centre of the surface and rotate around - quite a lot of them!

At the moment i can grid the surface etc, but cant “rotate” anything around the centre point. I am also struggling to place an adaptive component on the surface too.
