Join few Mass Surfaces into one single surface

I have a mass with individual surface.

I want to join them together and apply Lunchbox Quad Grid by Face.

But the outcome of grid lines are divided by each surface, not one large surface.

It means I only join them in the one group of list, but that are still individual surface.

you could try to make a little void inside the geometry to get rid of the seams

You’ll either need to:

  • modify the original profile curve so that it is one curve (not a polycurve that is extruded). This will give you one surface but it may not be accurate. OR
  • subdivide the surface using a different method. This will involve unequal panels or some geometric rationalisation

Try to create a Nurbs curve through tightly spaced points along the top and bottom surface’s perimeter curves, and then loft those to generate a single surface. Making a polycurve and lofting may also work but I’m not certain.

Thank you for all replies.

I used to draw a Nurbs curve or original profile curve in my Mass model.
It is sad that we need to re-draw the curve to get a smooth surface.

@FreddyY this is pretty common. You would have the same issue in Grasshopper for example. UV subdivision only works on surfaces, not polysurfaces.

I still have long way to learn Dynamo.
