How to solve the problem with notifications about System.IO.FileLoadException?

Hello everyone,

When I install the packages Rhythm, Bang!, Mandrill and LunchBox I keep getting notifications saying System.IO.FileLoadException. I have like 23 of them now in total and I really tried everything and read many forums about this problem, but nothing really helped. I don’t know why this keeps happening. I have only 1 Dynamo version and the packages I installed are the most recent ones for my Dynamo version and Revit version (2018, with Dynamo 1.3.4). I have installed the packages manually (and also tested these individually) but even that didn’t work. I have also tried to install some older versions of the packages, but that didn’t help either.

When I installed Clockwork 1.x, archi-lab.net and spring nodes I didn’t recieve any notification.

I have been using Dynamo 2 weeks now and I really would like to solve this problem. I haven’t used the nodes of all the custom packages yet. Only the ‘batch family upgrade’ node of Rhythm which worked, despite the warnings. But when I tried to create a Window with the Mandrill package with the Bar Charts, my Dynamo crashed. It didn’t crash when I created a pdf on the other hand, which is also weird… But I don’t know if Dynamo crashed because of the warnings.

The warning pretty much told you what to do:

Remove all your Revit add-ins and try again as there appears to be a dependency conflict. If the packages work after that try adding the add-ins back one at a time until you find which one(s) are causing the conflict.

Thank you for your reply Jacob. I actually tried this already… I didn’t receive any notifications when I installed Clockwork and spring nodes. Then when I installed Mandrill I received the same 4 notifications as above.

I installed only Rhythm as my first package earlier (so only 1 package in total at that time) and I also did get the same 9 notifications as above. So I still don’t get it why this keeps happening. :frowning:

I wouldn’t worry about many of these - they’re just saying that the packages are referencing version 2.0.1 of some dynamo dlls, while dynamo itself is a newer version- should be fine.

oh - you’re using Dynamo 1.3.4… well that might be a problem, the packages you are using are built against Dynamo 2 - if an API has been changed it’s possible you’ll run into weird issues. Thats what the errors are telling you. Might be fine…

The one I would worry about potentially is: Mandrill and the EO.WebBrowser because I’m not sure what version EnergyAnalysis is loading (it might be a completely different version) - or even what that addin is.

Thank you very much Michael. That’s pretty weird, because normally I get a message like ‘this package is for a newer Dynamo version, are you sure…’, but I didn’t get these with my current packages? I am going to uninstall these packages and download the ones which are built against Dynamo 1. Can you maybe help me to find which version of the packages are specific for my version? I can’t find anywhere in the name or information for which version the packages are built against when I look on https://dynamopackages.com/.

I got the right packages for the right version! But I still have one problem with Mandrill. I don’t know either where this EnergyAnalysis problem is coming from and can’t find any file with the name EnergyAnalysis in all Dynamo maps on my Computer. I don’t have any other add-ins or plug-ins for Revit 2018 which have a relation to this ‘EnergyAnalysis’. Does someone have any suggestion for this and how I can solve this problem? Maybe an error in the package itsself…?

Mandrill is mine. Other than the notification, do you have actual problems with using the package? Because what normally happens is that a reference is loaded by something that has a different version, that causes the warning, but for the most part it works just fine.

Hey Konrad, I have only used the Bar Charts node with the Report Window node, but the Report Window node kept crashing everytime I pressed run. I don’t know if this has something to do with the notifications I get. For some reason it only worked when I made a pdf of the Bar Chart. I am very new to Dynamo, so I haven’t had the time yet to test the other nodes in your package.

As I said earlier, I still don’t get where this EnergyAnalysis notification is coming from and what it has to do with your package… :frowning:

It’s coming from an Energy Analysis plugin that Revit ships with. It also uses the EO WebBrowser, but a different version. It should not be causing the crash. If there is a reason for a crash its probably more about the fact that you are using really old packages ie. 2018.0.2 is not the latest. There were some bugs that I have fixed since. I would highly recommend that you upgrade to newer versions. The “2018” prefix is not so much for Revit version in Mandrill’s case. It doesn’t have a Revit dependency like archi-lab.net. You should be able to upgrade to newer version. Give that a try.
