Get Space Name that Element lies directly above

Hi,
First time poster. I’ve been trying to use FamilyInstances.Space from Rhythm to get the space info for a bunch of mechanical equipment, problem is most of it lies directly above the space. I’ve been here:

and can’t help wondering if there is a simple solution to this.

What I was thinking, was get each element’s coordinates, decrease the Z component a bit, and see which space that point lies in. This last bit is where I’m stuck.

Any thoughts?
