Hello everyone, i’m fairly new to Dynamo and im curently truing to do an excersise por my masters degree on BIM, and i have encounter a problem that has been driving me crazy for the last 4 hours, im trying to do the base structure for the grove at Grand bay of BIG by only doing it on dynamo (and to eventually finishing it on revit) but every time i try to do a geometry translate for the points ive made for the columns i get an spiral on every single side, one side has 1 set of points, the next 2, the nest 3 and the final the limit i need for the points… iv’e tried everything, this is the set up and the image of the model;
Hey,
So, let’s say you are feeding 4 points, right, and your Z range is numbers 1-4… so Dynamo is shifting the first point up 1, the 2nd point up 2, so you get a spiral.
You need to have as many ‘level 1’ z values as ‘level 1’ points…
If you shift the lines first, then get points from them, does that work?
If you go look at ‘lacing’ you will see that ‘cross product’ does the same thing…
Hope that helps,
Mark
You guys are awesome! i haven’t got the time to sit and continue with the exercise but i’m actually gonna use both to finnaly set my soul free lol
You’re awesome! i followed your example combining things from the first comment as well, i encounter another obstacle tho, i’m trying to connect some points with lines to make the columns and their particular positions in the building, could you help me? i guess with that i could finish with all the geometry that i need
