Hi @neel-studio4
Can you post a screenshot of the contents of
C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AECGenerativeDesign\GenerativeDesignClient
on your computer? I want to verify that the expected files are where they need to be.

It looks like everything is in the right place. If you double-click the “GenerativeDesign.exe” application, do you see the same error?

Also, what version of Sandbox are you using?

yes the generativedesignclient.exe is working

the dynamo sandbox version is 2.6.18768

I am experiencing the same phenomenon as neel.
(Sandbox 2.10.0 and Civil 3D)
GenerativeDesign.exe in GenerativeDesignClient was working.
In my research post, I found that Revit2021’s CTC add-in tool was disabled, and disabling it does not change this situation.
Is there a solution?

@neel-studio4 Did you copy the GD package into a new directory, or is it being loaded from the original installation directory under ProgramData?

@oh_ruki We can’t guarantee that Generative Design will actually work with Civil 3D with each update, since we aren’t actively supporting that integration yet. Are you seeing the same error message that @neel-studio posted in this thread?

Hi,nate,
Yes, it was almost the same error message.
This happened in Dynamo of Civil3D 2020, but in 2021 and later versions, there was no error message and I was able to open Generative Design.
Will Generative Design for Civil 3D be released?
I use Dynamo in Civil 3D a lot.

Hi @nate.peters

still facing the same issue with the dynamo sandbox 2.6.1.

were you able to find a solution ?

i have not copied it it is running from the same folder.

@neel-studio4 @oh_ruki
Okay, we found a fix for the error you’re seeing that you can apply manually. In the Program Files\Autodesk\AECGenerativeDesign\GenerativeDesignClient directory, you need to move the six files that start with ADP…, and UPI2.dll into a different subdirectory.

The seven files you’ll move are:

  • ADPClientService.exe
  • AdpSDK.config
  • AdpSDKCore.dll
  • AdpSDKGlobal.config
  • AdpSDKUI.dll
  • AdpSDKWrapper.dll
  • UPI2.dll

Those files should move to \GenerativeDesignClient\resources\app. We fixed our installer for the next GD update to place those files in the new location by default.

Hi @nate.peters ,

I copied and movesd the 7 files u showed into the resources/app folder , but the error still persists.

@neel-studio4 can you try to move them in resources/ folder rather than resources/app ?

Hi,

that did fix the issue  thank you.

so just to confirm for others -

Copying the following files from -

\Program Files\Autodesk\AECGenerativeDesign\GenerativeDesignClient

The seven files you’ll move are:

  • ADPClientService.exe
  • AdpSDK.config
  • AdpSDKCore.dll
  • AdpSDKGlobal.config
  • AdpSDKUI.dll
  • AdpSDKWrapper.dll
  • UPI2.dll

to the folder -

\Program Files\Autodesk\AECGenerativeDesign\GenerativeDesignClient\resources\

will fix the above issues
thank you @nate.peters @Bzz
