Hi everyone, I need a little help. I want to know how to rotate a family instance around the X or Y axis. I found a Dynamo node called FamilyInstance.SetRotation
, but it only rotates the element around the Z axis.
Hi @lovro.sibenik can i ask what kind of family you will rotate in X or Y, not all families can do that depends how they are hosted
Hi, I have a family that represents wall and floor holes. I’m not sure if it’s custom-made or not, but it’s called V_Rectangular_M&E_Floor_Penetration.
allr ight, could you share that one ?

thanks have you tried if it possible manuel if not, i dont think dynamo can do it either
I’ll try to see if that’s possible with my team. Thx anyways
Hi i just tried manuel i cant as its hosted to a level…but if you host is a "floor and is sloped then you can and will follow that host
the family you provide has the “always vertical” characteristic, therefore it might be restricted to Z axis?
I do not know wheter it is usefull, or compatible with voids, but you can always rotate a nested family too.
