Does anyone know why when trying to export workspace as an image it is being cropped? Is this a bug or do you need to select or zoom in somewhere specific for it to work?

Hello Paul Wintour,
It seems to be broken recently.
Sorry for the inconvenience, I will get it fix ASAP. (MAGN-6219)
Thanks,
Ritesh
Ritesh - recently is kind of an understatement. I reported this deficiency 15 (!) months ago: https://github.com/DynamoDS/Dynamo/issues/687
Some other things about the screenshot tool that - in my opinion - need to be addressed:
The current zoom factor of the graph influences the image quality: https://github.com/DynamoDS/Dynamo/issues/364
The grid is visible in the exported image: https://github.com/DynamoDS/Dynamo/issues/733
And it would be really nice if the filename weren’t always Capture.png: https://github.com/DynamoDS/Dynamo/issues/2695
Paul - a quick workaround is to use the auto-layout function (Ctrl + L). This will reorder and reposition the graph within the (invisible) canvas boundaries and allow you to make a screenshot of the entire graph without the necessity for manual adjustments. Be aware, though, that auto-layout also comes with a few quirks (e.g. https://github.com/DynamoDS/Dynamo/issues/1920).
paul, andreas!
i am not the biggest fan of microsoft and its products, but there is a free software called “One Note” that is just perfect for crating screenshots
You don´t need a product, there is a Windows Tool “Snipping Tool”, works perfect.
Gentlemen, you are all getting off track here.
Dynamo has a tool that is supposed to allow you to export the workspace to image (as a PNG file with transparency and no grid visible otherwise its silly, and all points mentioned by Andreas are more than valid), AND IT DOESNT WORK. It was reported more than 15 months ago, and hasnt been fixed. Taking screen captures with SnippingTool is sooooooooo lame, but that’s what I have to do right now. If I need to zoom in more for larger graphs, taking multiple screen captures and stitching them in Photoshop…OMG, please fix the image exporter! I am dying here.
Sorry for being dramatic.
again, onenote does a good job
I could forgive the failure of the export workspace as image command IF it was possible to adjust the background to white (not off-white with a grid). Most UI have this functionality. Seems like a pretty easy thing to fix. Otherwise, all we are left with are lame screen grabs which, well, looks lame. Also depending on how big the script is, all the text drops off the nodes which makes it completely unusable.
The Dynamo version 1.1 that has just been released (literally few minutes ago) has the fix, you should try it out!
