Export slabs with similar thickness as single group with same color

I am working on project were it is required that all structural floors with same thickness have same color and be in same group such that we can select them all together with the same click. Also, I need to export the file to autocad and maintain the same group function.

I was able to group them in dynamo and assign colors to those with same thickness. but could not group them in revit.

Hi @ahmed.aelgammal ,

How do you mean group together in Revit?

as one group. selected together same color and hatch.

im sorry maybe i need to rephrase my question.
I am not familiar with groups in Revit, maybe you can search for revit group API online

@ahmed.aelgammal @Daan Check out clockwork package it has got custom node to group elements with name:

tried it but returns empty list any advise

What is the input you’re feeding into the GroupName input? My guess is that it’s a nested list, but the node needs a list.

I tried list.flatten but still it does not work. also I have attached my dyn file maybe you would like to
look at it in details

FILTER_FLOOR AND BEAM.dyn (67.5 KB)

Try not flattening either list. Instead use a List.FirstItem with longest lacing or @L2 to pull only one name from each list of names.

still same output nothing changed

I don’t think that node is set up to work with lists of lists at this time, which means you may have to play with list levels/lacing or update the code. Note that if any of your elements are already in a group you also will not be able to add them into a new group - this would result in you modifying a group outside of a group, which is a no go.
