Good evening,
I searched this afternoon, but I don’t understand why (the family moves while the rotation is linked to the local reference of the element),
with rotation
with no rotation
I have 2 leads:
- The problem comes from the fact that the familyinstance is placed without being assigned to a level (family instance by point)
- SetElementRotation node from Genius Loci package is not designed for familyinstance (no rotation with base node familyinstance rotation, weird)
Waiting for answers, thank you

Yeah, Assign.RefereceLevelorPlane would be a great node

I hope you find a way
Never seen a node like it (yet)
but,
i’m getting old so it could well have missed it

My arteries tell me the same thing, just don’t listen to them.
I’ll find a solution eventually, at least I hope so
thanks

Try the out of the box FamilyInstance.SetRotation node and see if that gives better results.
Also confirm the family’s origin isn’t way out in space due to some crazy parameter edits or liberal use of the align command.

Good morning Jacob.
I tried to rotate my elements with the node but it gives me problems, any recommendations to be able to rotate my structural columns…???
Hi,
I had a similar problem, solved here
Sincerely
