I’m considering using Dynamo with Fusion 360 in a similar fashion that Rhino is paired with Grasshopper. This is to design an origami structure.
I’d love to know how I can pair the two and if anyone has any tips for getting started on this process, or if I should just quit and pay for Rhino and Grasshopper.

You need to have dynamo studio for this and there is an add-in supports a bi-directional data exchange between Fusion 360 and Dynamo Studio.

Fusion does have an api - so theoretically, one could write an integration similar to the Revit one - http://help.autodesk.com/view/fusion360/ENU/?guid=GUID-A92A4B10-3781-4925-94C6-47DA85A4F65A
perhaps to start something that uses file based communication to simply change parameters - kind of like the addin Kulkul linked.
