Dynamo player, does not accept folders

dynamo player has stopped working, even the samples folder isn’t being trusted.
in Civil3d i can run any script or add folder to dynamo player.

closing the player results in not being able to start the player again.

looking for a fix.

is there a way to reset all the dynamo player settings?

Which version of Civil 3D?

FYI @zachri.jensen I might need some assistance here as the configurations files for Civil 3D player are new to me.

I haven’t heard of this either. I’m curious to see if we can reproduce.

Most Dynamo Player settings are in C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\C3D <version>\Dynamo\<version>\DynamoSettings.xml. There are <TrustedLocations> and <DynamoPlayerFolderGroups> elements in that file that you could try editing.

latest version, 2025.1, it worked until last monday.

What would be the default values, for TrustedLocations and DynamoPlayerFolderGroups, to try and get the baseline working again?

Removing them entirely should restore the defaults on next launch.

Tried that, did not fix the issue.
Dynamo runs, and i can see that all is reset to default.

Dynamo player still fails, shows the samples, but can’t access and run them and can’t add folders.

after closing dynamoplayer, the icon stays grey

Hi @Sybold,

I am not able to reproduce. A video of your process may help narrow it down.

Feels infosec related. At that point the best option is to submit a ticket to Autodesk support by way of the accounts portal at manage.autodesk.com so my colleagues in that org can do some more direct troubleshooting in order to ID the blocker. Record the process and include a link to the video and another link to this topic in your ticket so that they don’t start you at step 0.
