Hello @solamour, @achintya_bhat , @emrullah.yildiz , @john_pierson and @jacob.small
I’m wondering, when will Dynamo Challenge 04 begin? To encourage more Dynamo enthusiasts to participate, adding some motivational incentives could be very effective. For example, if the Dynamo team showcases the winning projects at Autodesk University, participation in future challenges could grow significantly, perhaps even tenfold. The winning entries would likely be of high quality, and each challenge could evolve into a valuable AU class for the Dynamo community. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!

I don’t think we have a timeline, but will ping the Autodesk internal team members on Monday…

Out of curiosity, what sort of topics might people like to see?

@jacob.small Thank you for following up! The topics like Dynamo Challenges 01–05 are always engaging. Themes like interoperability between Autodesk software, AI integration, and generative design would be exciting additions.

@ARTsBIM That’s a great suggestion! :star_struck: Are you referring to the Dynamo team showcasing the submissions from the forum challenge at the Dynamo hackathon or at Dynamo roadmap presentation at AU? Either way, this is an exciting idea! At AU, we’re always looking to share use cases that utilize Dynamo in innovative ways and are applicable to real-world scenarios. We will take this into consideration.

To give you a heads-up, we’re also considering doing short blog posts in the future to highlight some of these efforts. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Thanks for your enthusiasm and great ideas as always. you have got us thinking!

Thanks for the suggestions on the topics. We have interoperability coming next. AI integration and generative design both sound like great topic. :+1:

Challenge 04 will be on soon, so stay tuned! :star_struck: We had to shuffle things around a bit since we extended Challenge 03-Make Anything in Forma, Dynamo hackathon in Amsterdam and, well, some of the team were away on vacation (guilty myself ).

Does the Challenge 04 topic-Dynamo Conductor: Orchestrating Data and Geometry with Dynamo, still excite you all? With summer holidays approaching in Europe and North America, does July still sound like a good time to kick things off?
We’ve have also noticed the participation in recent forum challenges has been a bit lighter compared to Challenge 01, and we’d love to hear your feedback. Do you need more time? Any other suggestions you’d like to share with us, we will consider it as we whip up the next challenge here?:folded_hands:

@achintya_bhat Thanks to you and the entire team for all your efforts. Showcasing the forum challenge submissions during the Dynamo Hackathon or the Dynamo Roadmap presentation at AU is a great idea. Starting with the next challenge, you might also consider planning a dedicated AU class for each challenge. As you mentioned, writing short blog posts to highlight some of these efforts is a great addition as well.

@achintya_bhat You’re welcome! Really looking forward to all the upcoming challenges, including the next one, Challenge 04- Dynamo Conductor: Orchestrating Data and Geometry with Dynamo.

I’d say the entry numbers will have been down as the bar for entry was higher.

Normally you only need a fairly basic Dynamo level to enter but the last two have been more difficult.

The landmark for a favourite city was a bit more serious than normal and the forma one required knowledge of another software.

Design a Christmas object is a much wider scope and is far easier for a beginner to take part and have fun.

The next proposed ones…

:small_orange_diamond: 04- Dynamo Conductor: Orchestrating Data and Geometry with Dynamo (Tentatively April)

I read this and think… Well I don’t really understand what they want.

:small_orange_diamond: 05- Dynamo Rocket Challenge: Design a spaceship using Dynamo (Tentatively May)

I read this and think, ā€œmake a spaceship in Dynamoā€ā€¦ I can easily grasp what is required.

I agree, the first challenge was simple enough for me to participate even with my limited experience in Dynamo. It was a great learning opportunity, and seeing others’ submissions made it even better. I absolutely loved that challenge and I’m really excited for the next two!
