Dyf Backup Files creating frequently in Package Folder

Hey Guys,

I have been testing out package deployment to our team members via ACC project, which I know has pro’s and con’s…

But one thing i’m trying to understand is why certain nodes create backups of themselves in the package folder location?

Image for reference:

I am occasionally getting permission errors when these backup files get created.
Is it something that just happens as a matter of course - and the only reason i see the issue now is because i’m trying to use ACC and desktop connector for deployment? Or is it something to do with the way the nodes are used in my graphs perhaps?

This example is using Revit 2023, Dynamo 2.16, Rhythm 2022.11.3 - but i don’t know yet if it’s specific to this package, or something in my environment

Hi @john_pierson

I’ve been watching this for a little while, and it seems to be only happening with Rhythm.
Are you able to share if the .backup creation is intentional in your package code? or if I should continue to look into my environment for the cause?

Thank-you!

Oh, that is weird. I am not too sure what is going on.

Although, all DYFs have been removed from Rhythm for some time, so it does appear you are on an out-of-date version.

If you update to the latest version you should be good to go.

Guessing the old version is old enough that use of the .dyf requires making a copy before doing an update to the new format or to enable new properties in the underlaying JSON code.
