Sharing personal side project - since I see this being done a lot with other tools and a number of requests here, thought it might silly and fun. I (with Claude) made a node to put Doom in Dynamo.
Well this statement will certainly solve your productivity issue.
The package only plays the WAD files you provide it… So the obvious (well obvious to me anyway) next step is to write something that converts the active Revit file into a .WAD with randomly populated items.
Fun fact: This is the stuff we were doing (trying to do) back in 06, before there was Enscape, or Revizto, or Adsk Live (RIP), or (of course) Dynamo. We wanted to walk around Revit models (8.1, back then) in Game Engines, as a way to let clients peruse the models. Of course the models had way lousier graphics (LOL), but i remember us messing with Half Life (Hammer engine, i think it was?)
It was cool to walk around a Shopping Mall in something like Half Life, LOL. We used an old Playstation Controller for it. And we had to rematerialize evvvvvvverything. Man, those were the days.
Very relatable - especially the rematerialization, remapping UV’s etc.
At university we had a lecturer who showed us how to get our sketchup designs into UE2, and he locked down the weapons to a book the character held. Needless to say the nerds of the class (me included) figured out how to re-enable weapons whilst he was demonstrating it to us in the model environment. Fun times…
This could potentially help with Revit’s long loading times. What’s the strategy for this? Will it open a window? Or is it only in Dynamo native? Does it use the Dynamo script load time and freeze the use of Revit basically?

I only tested briefly (enough to win a single level)before my HDD died (windows wont install now so I am waiting on a loaner and a technician to run the repair), and I don’t recall if it was in Sandbox or Revit, but I would expect things to ’lockup’ while the game was running. Worth an install and test though as there are other similar uses for this - what if you logged the commands run and used that to modify a Revit document?
