Hi @nsmitCNGH5 yes should be possible…guess we have many options here, here just a rough example with ootb dimension by face, try show us what you have tried so far and we can try help from there…
Is it not possible without selecting but with filtering
yes thats should be possible as well, just about sorting / filtering out the faces… 
you could try with dimension by edges as well…or with genius loci reference nodes
