Creating Fully Solid Objects with Solid.Sweep Node in Dynamo

Hello everyone,

I’ve created a solid from points using the Solid.Sweep node in Dynamo. However, I’ve encountered an issue: when I section the solid object in Navisworks, it appears hollow inside.

Has anyone managed to create a solid object that remains solid throughout using this method? If so, could you share your approach? r and more engaging for forum readers.

Hi,
If ever it could help you (a recreation with another node) while waiting for a geometry specialist.

Try attaching screenshots of your script, with the nodes open

Hi Christian, thanks for the reply. I’ve since changed my workflow to use a C3D corridor and it works much better.

Sorry for writing in this topic, but it seems similar to my issue. I’m trying to create a dynamo script that helps me modeling safety barriers faster and multiple ones at once. The idea behind it is that the in my model space there are 3D polylines, which will be the paths for sweeping a cross section along them. I have created a cross section of a barrier via point.bycoordinates and polycurve.bypoints nodes. Now when I’m trying to sweep the cross section along 3Dpolys it does the sweeping but misplaces the solids in modelspace (they should be 0,7m above 3D Polys). What am I doing wrong?

I have attached a script and a drawing for better understanding.

Safety barrier.dyn (88.4 KB)

Safety barrier sweep.dwg (936.7 KB)

I created a little different script for my needs - I pick polylines (one by one), I select a surface to place barrier posts (a post is a pre-created 3D block), and location (also define the interval between posts). Then I have to choose if the barrier is on the left or right side to create the right barrier cross-section.
Hope this helps, it’s a totally different approach, but maybe you can use some of this

Thank you for the reply. Your workflow seems nice and definitely useful. I’ve made changes to mine. I use assembly and featureline and also block reference for the posts.
That gives me a way of modeling all the same type barriers at once + adjust the step of posts.
