I usually use Data shortcuts, and create multiple references. For example, I would now like to create a reference to ALL the alignments in one folder and ALL surfaces in another folder.
I want all the alignments to have the same style and description. But I want all the surfaces to have different styles, and I would like the style to be chosen to match the name of the surface. Ex: Surface “Road” should be created with style “_Geo_Road”, Surface “Ground” should be created with style “_Geo_Ground”
Is this possible?
Hi @AnnaCad,
There aren’t any nodes available out-of-the-box for working with data shortcuts, so you’ll have to see if a third-party package will do what you need. The Camber package is worth a look.
After creating the data references, you can set the styles of the objects using the CivilObject.SetStyle node. The CivilObject.Name may also be useful for obtaining the names of the objects and then using those to determine the appropriate style.
Hi @zachri.jensen,
I just saw in 2025.2.1 that they enabled the Data Shortcut APIs for ACC / DC. Would this update enable adding out of the box nodes for data shortcuts to Dynamo, or getting it on the road map?
I’ve played with the Camber Nodes for DS, but they don’t work as expected (returning errors or refusing to recognize a DSP at a valid path). I am not sure if this is due to a .Net versioning issue or the fact that my company uses the Autodesk Construction Cloud and the API had not been updated till recently to be compatible. I don’t believe that the Camber nodes are being updating anymore, so having out of the box nodes for DS would be a great help.
Sure, I added a card here that you can vote on.
Thanks so much @zachri.jensen!
