Callout view

Hello everyone,

I have been wondering is there a way to place callout view in Revit using Dynamo? Let say I am designing a parametric tower. I would like to always show a callout view/detail view with bigger scale of the top of this tower. Because of the height that always changes, I have to manually move the callout box down or up. Perhaps there is an easy way to place callout view using coordinates or something similar.

I tried it just for fun, I don’t really like the script (plus the Element.MoveByVector node is kind of buggy on my system, i often have to re-select the section to make it work). I chose to move the section to the center of the model line but you could change that part. Oh the view.plane node is from Clockwork’s package

You should try to find out if you can move the callout either by selecting it in a view or from the “views” node in dynamo, then feeding it some coordinates from your parametric tower

Hi GregX,

Thanks seems to work, the thing is I have to set up in the template Callout in the position 0,0,0 so the vector will be exactly to the top of the tower when I run the script. Thank you
