Attach wall top/base to roof

Hi dear all,

I was trying to search some information about this topic but still i don’t have any idea to continue and i’m blocked

I’m using Revit 2025.1 and i wonder if it is possible to make same effect that the buttom “Attach top/base” has using it to link an existing and sloped roof to an existing wall

I mean, i want to pass from 1 to 2:

And use the roof to cut the excess of the wall over

Do you have any idea although it is not exactly by attaching base/top wall?

Many many thanks

I wasn’t able to find anything suggesting it exists in the API. Which is weird since the column method exists. I’m afraid you’ll have to do this manually for the time being.

Correct. There is no ‘attach to’ method though there are many long standing requests.

There is a wall by profile method though…

Hey Nick, Jacob! Thank you for your fast responses!

Yesterday afternoon I has searching some information on the internet and I’ve found this fórum ( Provide API to attach wall top/bottom to other model element - Autodesk Community ) in which people say that Revit 2025.2 has an special node for this, I think, I’m not sure, called “Wall.AddAttachment” and released just a month ago

The problem is that I still have Revit 2025.1 ¿Have you been able to try it?

Hi @diego.mata.pose …thats really great news  thanks

I haven’t - most (all?) of my efforts are in 2022 and 2024 right now.

EDIT: Just checked the link and that is just an API call. There is no node for it yet, so you’ll have to write some Python or build some C# code for this.

ohmm… what a pity!

ok, i don’t know python yet, so I think i’ll have to do it manually in the revit space

Many thanks again, guys!
