Hi everyone, i am trying to align a floor (ex: road) on a point cloud.
Several add-ins and scripts convert point cloud to topography then align the floor to the topography. But this workflow is not working (or the result is ugly) for dense point clouds.
What i am trying to do, is to avoid generating new points on my floor. Instead, create manually some points on a floor and align (change the z) only these points to the point cloud…
Any suggestions?

Did you try some implementation or have any sort of ideas in mind that you would like to implement…?? Or maybe if you made something and not working properly…??

i did create a topography from my point cloud (which results on loosing accuracy), and then converted it to mesh and polysurface like described in this article but for dense point clouds it takes too long (and lose accuracy in step 1)…
This solution is also not what i want because it’s generating lot of points…
