You canāt see it, a white birdie on a white background, so I changed the bg color a bit:
There it is, if you have a topic open (probably not on the main page). It has a link to Twitter. Is it snooping on us?

I donāt even have twitter⦠but I clicked in that general area (I canāt see it because of white background) and it took me to twatter.
How do you change background colour?
It is likely shifted in your UI based on changes recently made. It should link to the Dynamo Twitter account (I shall not use any other name).
As far as if the company I refer to as Twitter is spying on us⦠well likely the individual of questionable morals who runs that company has some unnamed minion scraping every single web resource they can to build yet another large language model with questionable capabilities and insufficient guardrails and that no one asked for. However the icon is not a result of that (they would use another one).
CTRL+SHIFT+I in Chrome. You get a developer console where you can look into the source and change CSS to preview.
Not likelyā¦
The twitter logo used to be next to Privacy
on the menu. The team recently made changes to prevent topic title and menu overlap and this menu item seems to have responded as well.
If you use a browser extension like āDark Readerā, you will see it pretty much everywhere:
I pinged the team to let them know and weāll get it updated.
Also, hereās another interesting sidenote:
This menu bug that showed up seems to be a result of a navbar style change. Navbar is a class that comes from a framework called bootstrap.
Bootstrap was developed by⦠twitter in 2010 and open-source shortly after.
So with that in mind, the way we interact with a lot of websites these days is thanks to⦠twitter. (twitter circa 2010 though).
So while this post could get off the rails and speculate about the twitter bird watching us, the navbar thing is not a result of that, but it is a result of a style change on the boostrap navbar which ultimately came from twitter way back when.
You mean⦠out of the sky and into⦠well hopefully blue-er skies, right?
Eh, I donāt have any comment ĀÆ\_(ć)_/ĀÆ
I post wherever there are people who might be interested in seeing content regardless of who owns it, without a preference for any platform in particular.
I was looking for a picture of a man peeing a message in the snow, but I think imagination will also suffice
Oh! I didnāt even think of that platform⦠just playing off āwhere are there birds, and where might birds be happierāā¦
I take it back, now it is off the rails
I think I have got it fixed from my testing, please let me know if you see other way
Time to shoot the damn bird!
Yes⦠it should be an eX birdā¦
haha, would you mind sharing your browser and OS to help us digest this? I think I tested MS Edge and Chrome on Mac OS and Windows 11/10.
Agreed, I also looked at this and found this old style is from Discourse, need to ask them to point me the new style for X to make it happen. Stay tuned.
