Setting a door parameter based on the area it's in

Hi,

We primarily design apartment complexes and schedule doors associated with these apartments differently to those in communal areas. I’ve created a set of doors with a yes/no parameter determining if they’re in an apartment allowing me to separate out the two door types easily.

Each apartment will have a uniquely named area. If possible I’d like to map this name onto another text parameter within the doors called “Host Apartment Number”. I’m happy pulling the doors & areas through and setting the parameter but I don’t know which nodes to use to determine which door is in which area.

Any help would be much appreciated! Apologies if my description is unclear and let me know if further detail is required to advise.

I’m trying to detect doors and windows ‘touching’ or ‘intersecting’ with areas. Areas don’t have any ‘3d space’ to compare against, so SteamNodes’ GetSurroundingElements doesn’t work. I want to put the ‘Number’ parameter from the Area into a ‘touching’ doors and windows parameter.
