Hello Dynamites,
As part of our ongoing roadmap item to make Dynamo a stronger environment for data connection pipelines, we’ve released several new nodes in the DynamoFormaBeta package — including Select Proposal Elements, Select Site, Send Elements to Forma Proposal.
These updates not only enhance your ability to get and send data to Forma, but also unlock new automation workflows — allowing you to run one Dynamo script across multiple proposals simultaneously. Think of it as running your Dynamo script across several Revit projects — all at once.
While building these capabilities, we’re also exploring new paradigms for node layout and usability — aiming for a future where nodes are easier to use and provide a more streamlined experience.
The Select Proposal Elements node is the first of its kind — connecting Dynamo directly to web data platforms (currently Forma) through a simplified UI window. This eliminates unnecessary list management nodes and the need for prior knowledge of Forma nodes.
The result: a more stable and intuitive experience when working with Forma data in Dynamo.
What you can do with Select Proposal Elements node
• Connect to your Forma proposals directly from Dynamo — no need to open Forma
• Browse by category or hierarchy, select, and automate proposal data effortlessly
• Test and visualize your Forma models within Dynamo — no need to open Forma
• Speed up your Dynamo script setup process up to 3x faster while keeping your workspace cleaner
This release is part of our ongoing effort to make Dynamo a more connected and intelligent environment for AEC workflows — giving designers, developers, and analysts more flexibility in how they interact with design data.
Please note that DynamoFormaBeta package is still in the Beta stage and we keep improving it based on your feedback. It is the perfect time to share your feedback and shape the node customized according to your needs.
We will be waiting for your feedback.
