Revit luminaire positioning with different ceiling height

Build a small sample of the data - say an rvt with the necessary families, and just one room and the associated xls info. Post them here (or to another file sharing service) so we can have a look. My gut says that you need to use a face at point method (clockwork I believe) after you project the points into the Revit elements. Also confirm that you can manually place the light fixtures at these locations.

I’m sending You the next files:

  • RVT file
  • DWG plan (exported from rvt)
  • DATA EXTRACTION xls file (extracted from the dwg plan)
  • LIGHTING FAMILY (one of them that we should use)
  • DYNAMO PROCESS FILE (that finds projected points on the ceiling, but places families on floor).

Note that I created sone generic mass ceilings (because we’re dealing with those kind of ceilings in the architect’s IFC that we received).

Please let me know what I’m missing … :slight_smile:

I made similar script.
I successfully combined the two scripts. From cad linked get the center point location and place a family from ceiling surfaces. I have 3 ceilings with different offset when I run dynamo only 1 ceiling is in correct hosting and offset the rest is not hosted and a little off to specified ceiling offset. Please Help!
